A rose in every cheek

Day 2 - July 20

Early sun = early rise and before I knew it life in the English capital was underway.

I rummaged through my stuff and discovered, much to my delight, a pleasant surprise from home that would serve me well on the road.

It was a tube of Vegemite and the official sponsor of the Australian Olympic team had helped get my own five-coloured-rings campaign underway.

A very popular addition to the household of Aussies along with the Tim Tams that were also smuggled through border security.

Started to get myself familiar with my new home in Balham and picked up a few of the essentials - travel card, UK phone number, standard Tourist shot with an old red letter box, fish and chips for lunch and a few beers from the little off-license for later that night.
